Radio and Audio Switching
(DXS)
The DXS is a flexible, audio switching
system capable of integrating any industry-standard audio systems. The
system integrates all audio circuits including radio, telephony, public
address, voice recorder and alarms onto a single headset and / or console
audio kit utilising a single PTT and two speakers. All audio circuits are
accessible via a computer control interface using the Sysman's SoftSwitch
application
Product
Overview:
Sysman
has continuously developed the product over the past 13 years, all
developments being driven by industry requirements. The product can handle
most network requirements and restrictions within the boundaries of
sensible radio and audio usage.
To date, 36 Emergency Services control centres in South Africa have installed systems.
Sysman’s DXS is a leading edge
solution in voice distribution of radio device, control technology. The
system connects the operator with any radio network infrastructure from
one unified source. The user interface is universal to all networks or
radio & audio interfaces (eg FM, AM, MPT, Paging or E&M).
Applications
vary from full ‘CTI enabled’ control centre solutions to systems
incorporating consoles, multi-channel radios, single channel radios, trunk
radios, air band, paging, REMRAD, NEAR, PA, intercom, telephone-patching,
audio entertainment and non standard audio systems.
Radio
Control:
Full
radio control is achieved via the radio controller. Compatible
multi-channel radios offer computer controlled channel selection and sell
call (Radio CLi) send and receive. Each operator has monitor or select
capabilities for up to 14 simultaneous devices. Audio monitoring is
priority-based on both monitor and select.
Multiple
‘radio-control’ systems can be connected with each system capable of
controlling up to 16 radios. Radios are either data controlled, multi
channel devices or fixed channel. The system accommodates dissimilar
radios, multiple network technologies (eg Trunk, FM etc), and data / voice radios.
Distributed
Network:
In
using distributed network technology, the system is extremely flexible and
scalable. As many as 256 nodes can be connected to the same network from
different locations. With ‘break out’ options available, additional
networks can be incorporated making connectivity almost limitless.
The
DXS is scalable from one to 64 operator positions, and
capable of connecting up to 256 audio ports. Audio port flexibility
enables any audio port to be configured as either:
TX & RX or,
TX or RX only.
Connections
to external systems such as PBX and Voice Recorder technology is thus made
easy. All audio connections can be fixed channel or controlled dynamically
by the software.
